AM I ELIGIBLE TO APPLY?
You can apply if
- you are from a non-English speaking background
- you are in your first or second semester at UTS
- you are registered with the ELSSA Centre
- the duration of the exam is two hours or more.
WHAT ARE THE
SPECIAL CONDITIONS IN EXAMS?
- Additional exam time: 10 minutes per exam hour
- The use of a monolingual English dictionary (e.g. Macquarie).

HOW CAN I APPLY?
If you are eligible to apply:
- pick up the Special Exam Conditions form from the ELSSA
Centre or go to the website
- write a statement on the form to explain why you need
additional time or why you need to use a dictionary
- show your student ID card to the Student Administrator at the ELSSA
Centre
- ask the ELSSA Centre to approve your form with a stamp
and signature
- for Centrally-administered Exams, the UTS Exams Branch will contact you when your application has
been processed
- for Faculty-based Exams, you will need to take a photocopy of the approved application form to see the subject coordinators for their approval.

CLOSING DATE FOR APPLICATIONS
- For Centrally-administered Exams, at least 30 days before the exam period starts
- For Faculty-based Exams, at least 30 days before the exam.
